It's true. I've heard it. It sounds like an annoying buzz. But it's so high pitch supposedly that older people can't hear it.

Yeah. Where the fu*ck have you been? They know it's there cuz people under 30 yrs old can hear it....only those over 30 can't. It's scientific....they used to use it to keep kids from loitering outside of stores, but some clever little bastard made it into a ringtone. It's cuz once you reach a certain age, you sustain a small amount of hearing loss & you can't hear this certain pitch....kinda like a dog whistle. I'm 25 & can't hear it, but my wife's 24 & can. Damn. This is the most serious answer I've ever given on here.

I read the article on msn a couple of months ago. Go to msn.com and look it up. Something to do with a ring the students will hear but not their teachers or parents because of the age difference and the hearing abilities of different ages.

Yeah i've got heard approximately that. i assume someplace in Europe they began putting those audio gadget up in department stores that could transmit a extreme pitched sound that basically youthful human beings can hear. The suposedly did it to attempt and get little ones to return to college or something. nicely the youngsters rather recorded the sound and positioned it on their computers and deliver it to their cellular telephones. Now they are in a position to call eachother in college and the instructor won't be in a position to take heed to it.

It exists. Its called the mosquito. search for on the web. You as an adult will be able to hear it if you are listening for it. It is not inaudible, but it is very passive sound, like a bug in the room. Search mosquito ringer you'll see.

Yes, we got that one here in Norway. It's a very high frequency tone that people over a certain age can't hear. Stupid, if you ask me. But kinda funny(:
