Clifford you are finally making some good points. But what do you mean "fix" the job situation? Higher wages, stop offshoring jobs, or something else?

Europe is already Socialized. The verdict is that it has been a failure. In fact, some countries are trying to move away socialism. For example, the UK under Thatcher started to privatize state owned/controlled crown companies. After about 20 years, this started to pay dividends. Now, the UK has become one of the strongest economies in Europe.

Finland is the most Socialized country in Europe. In Finland, around 65% of your income goes to taxes to pay for cradle to the grave social programs. This may sound great to some, but the main drawback is they have a much lower standard of living than the US. On average, the Finns make 30% less than the people in the US, live in much smaller houses, and have less of an ability to purchase discretionary goods. See link below:

Please note that this link is from the Washington Post, which is one of the most Liberal news papers in the US.

I think Super Shiraz has a good point. Did anyone even bother to read the linked article?

It states something that most people do not seem to know because most people where taught incorrectly. Nazism is a left wing movement and NOT part of the right.

The Nazi party is the National Socialist party. The key part of this being Socialist! The main thing that allowed Hitler to rise to power is the fact that the German economy was in chaos. Germany was in the middle of the Great Depression, like most other countries; however, Germany's problems were made worse by the Treaty of Versailles. One of the biggest problems facing Germany was extremely high unemployment. And Hitler's solution was to put the people to work on large public works projects. Sound familiar? (That's how the autobahns were built.)

The other misconception is that Hitler was a pure capitalist (this is one reason he is cast as a member of the right), but this is not entirely true. Hitler controlled big business in all but name. He believed in a partnership between business and government, with the government directing what business actually did. He had loyal Nazi party members sit on boards of businesses to control what they did. If companies stepped out of line. They would suddenly lose crucial government contracts. Sound familiar?

These are principles of Socialism not free market Capitalism.

Both of these concepts should be very familiar. The first was done by our notable Socialist President FDR. The second is not too far away from what the Bush administration has done. Bush's social policies definitely place him on the right. However, his economic policies do NOT.

we are a Democratic Republic! Socialism An economics professor on the college reported he had by no skill failed a single pupil earlier yet had, as quickly as, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism labored and that no person may well be undesirable and no person may well be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then reported ok, we could have an test in this class on socialism. All grades may well be averaged and everybody might acquire an identical grade so no person might fail and no person might acquire an A. After the 1st attempt the grades have been averaged and everybody have been given a B. the scholars who studied complicated have been disenchanted and the scholars who studied little have been chuffed. yet, because of the fact the 2d attempt rolled around, the scholars who studied little had studied even much less and people who studied complicated desperate they needed a unfastened journey too; so as that they studied little.. the 2d attempt uncomplicated grow to be a D! no person grow to be chuffed. whilst the third attempt rolled around the traditional grow to be an F. The scores by no skill larger as bickering, blame, call calling all led to complicated thoughts and no person might learn for the income of anybody else. All failed, to their great marvel, and the professor informed them that socialism might additionally finally fail because of the fact whilst the advantages is superb, the attempt to be triumphant is superb; yet whilst government takes all of the advantages away; no person will attempt or prefer to be triumphant. could not be any greater straightforward than that....

If we don't address what is going on in the job market in the United States today there will be a very strong backlash which could bring us to a Socialist economy. We can fix it now, or we can fix it later. One way or the other given our propensity towards collective action, and the declines in the real economy of the US, along with colloquial tendencies, we may convert to a Socialist economy if we do not address the issues today.

Yeah, I think, if the government keeps doing what it's been doing. Lying in it's people's face and making a travesty of justice and truth. It's been a dream for Russia and China to see America getting strangled by Socialism. We need to wake up and do something to maintain our integrity and unity before it's too late. God bless!

I cannot see America ever becoming a socialist country...not that I think it would be all that bad.

Capatilism reigns supreme, if anything I'd say America is bordering on the other end of the spectrum.

I think both Harry potter and cliffpott are absolutely right, but before it happens there could be a lot of blood shed.No body gives up the position of power that easy. But there could be an economic collapse too before that.

Probably, but I hope to God no!
You know what happened to the USSR? Communism which is a version of socialism. It made their economy stagnated and then they fell.

If we become socialistic, I suggest you start moving even though Europe is becoming socialistic more so than us.
