A couple of things to keep in mind , most likely you will have to share joint custody with your soon to be ex.

depending on how long you were married you should be able to get a temporary maintance fee amount paid to you immedatly.

Lawyers will tell you many things can be done or are possible. But keep in mind the courts will not help you get things done.

From the sound of it you and your ex live in differant states this will make things difficult. Depending on the state were you lived as a married couple that will most likely become the state the divorce is settled in.
Lawyers can agree to take a portion of the settlement agreement as payment, and most will give you a free first meeting. Find one that will agree to whatever payment you can make.

It is possible that until you get into court and get an actual court ruling on all these things you shouldn't let your kids go see your soon to be ex, sounds like next time he might just decide to keep them. You know him and the situation better than I do but talk to a lawyer and ask lots of questions. Oh and be sure to ask what is really possible, do-able . No sense in going after things that won't really be possible.
Lawyers really like to keep a couple fighting so they get more money.

there is not any such factor as a criminal separation interior the state of Virginia. I stay right here. there's a 6 month separation era for human beings without infants or property possession until now divorce could be very final....if there are youngsters or homes owned that's a 300 and sixty 5 days. besides, they're fantastically strict on the no relationship for one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days rule.....I enable my ex start up relationship and get a female chum first until now I went out. Tuff state. reliable success.

chk out free attorneys--lawyers care--for people that are having a difficult time---tell the lawyer your problem and he will file with the judge and the courts---you could write a letter to his (your exes attny explaining the situation) that you have no money---and write one to the judge-------have a lot of family around you for support or friends--and research womens groups----any support groups you can find---for women going through transitions---they have them at salvation army--churches and colleges------
also try to get some counseling--(some places will provide it for free or a nominal charges-------good luck
