Read and know the material. Using the material, think of what would be test questions and how you would ask them.

There is only so much information in any larger block of information that makes for good test questions, and this method helps you understand what those are.

It has always worked for me, all the way through med school.

For me, it always helps to gather all the information that i think contributes to the topic being studied, and writing it out. Put things together from different articles/websites/books and make a coherent answer.. and write it out like you would write an essay.

Then study this piece of material, rather than looking at the various sources..

This has always helped me, and i'm sure that writing it helps you remember it more than just reading it over and over again.
