Unknown sources like http://www.imdb.com/ say that one of the greatest actresses of all-time Marilyn Monroe is a descendant of the Fifth President of the United States James Monroe. Does anyone know about that and if you knew, is it really true?

It's really true, but her ancestors had never liked Monroe's politics, so early on they changed their family name to Mortenson. When Marilyn (aka: Norma Jean) later became an actress, she chose her real family name, Monroe, as her stage name.
