Oh no no no. You're friend IS only 10 honey and doesn't know what's going on. Poor thing. I don't know where she heard that but it's just not true. The ladies here are right, it is genetic. Also, each generation, they say is starting to mature earlier. So, her mother probably started young, maybe around 11 or so. That's all...everybody's different. Women all grow up and different times and it has nothing to do with your size or what you eat. If you girls really want to know more, I suggest going to the library or looking it up online. Sometimes moms aren't even reliable for these kinds of "growing up" answers, because they aren't prepared for them!

Well your friend mis-informed you dearie. The truth is, the average age for girls developing breast tissue is 9-10 years old. The average age for girls getting their menustration is 10-11 years old. So your friend is actually just part of the national average. Why?
In today's society, there is an over-abundance of estrogen pheromones everywhere. In the air, in our food, in our water supply and in our body systems. There are several reasons but it would take all day to explain. Here is just one example: In the good ole' days, cowboys took their cattle to market at age18 in order to slaughter into beef for consumption. Eighteen was the cattles age of full maturity. Today, farmers (owned by big corporate America) inject hormones into their cattle in order to get them to market faster. The results is 18 months instead of 18 years! Well, people eat the beef (also done in poultry, pork, fish, etc...) and so therefore are also ingesting the hormones. This is only ONE reason girls are maturing so much faster today than in past generations.
Hormone imbalances have become a serious issue. Read all you can about it and learn, learn, learn. Starting your menses is only the beginning of a lifetime of problems related to it. Oh, and by the way, hormone imbalances affect boys/men too!

As you suspected, her period starting early has nothing to do with eating ice. While most girls are going to start around 12 or 13, some do start earlier or later. I started at 10 too.
I hope her mom sits down and discusses the facts of life because now she's at risk of getting pregnant if she has sex, and she better know how that happens and how to prevent it.

Eating ice and being small has nothing to do with a young lady having her first period. Having a period is all biological and that's just the way it is for females.

Your menstral cycle has nothing to do with ice. The only reason why she got her period is usually kids these days are growing up to fast and they eat ther wrong foods. She also could have gotten it from genetics Her mom probebly gotten early or something also. And being small doesnt have anything to do with it either.
