Haha. Funny question. In all seriousness, if you are underage, then alcohol shouldn't even be an option. If you are over age...
Alcohol is a depressent. It brings you up and then brings you crashing down. So, a few drinks may help you forget and have a little fun ... but once you hit the edge, you are going to be lower than you were before. And, you'll probably have a hangover the next day as well.
What is that "edge" - well, that depends on how much your body can take, which is determined by your age, weight, sex, and tolerance. No straight answer here (you cant say, "if you have more than 3 drinks, your going downhill" .... the number is different for us all).
And as for "lower than before", the depressive state of alcohol is no fun. Imaging being sad, having to drink, reaching a high (happy state) and then ending up sadder then you were at the start. This is where alcoholism can come into play. When you are sad, you drink more to get higher ... but end up coming down again even sadder. So you drink more, get high again, and come back even lower and sadder than before .... and the cycle continues ...

Alcohol will only temporarily numb your hurt and pain over a recent breakup. Overall if you result to alcohol, you might feel better during the first drink but in the end after it's over and done with, it will just make you feel worse. I'd vote against alcohol in this case.

It will help for a little while - Unfortunately, you can only drink for so long before you kill yourself - So, when you stop drinking, expect all the pain to come hurdling at you going about 200mph and slamming right into your face. The best way to go is face it now, not later - Don't cover up the pain with something that can ruin your life and the lives of others.

it helps in some senses but you can get addicted, its best to just move on and forget about the breakup, its over and done with, just think about yourself and what you want in life, also keep more active and busy with new hobbies, jogging exercise, etc

It will dam sure make you forget about it!!!!!!!
But no you will only drown your sorrows and all you wake up with is a wet pillow, a hangover, and your sorrows.
Now weed.....seriously consider that one....yeah I know it's illigal...but hell its healthier than alcohol, you get high and you think about shyt and you will realize that the son-of-a monkey wasn't even worth it!
Just tryin to make you laugh...

no, it doesn't. It only causes a temporary state of not caring, but the next day you will even be more sensitive. Just toughen it out and you will be a lot stronger after it and just as capable to fall in love again.
