Cultures have traditionally labeled those things "evil" that create an individual who is in some way deviant and destructive to society. A person with an overly acquisitive nature generally tends to commit acts designed to further his self-interest and remains indifferent to the effects his acts have on the community. As his indifference increases and the scope of his activities has a widening effect on his community, the acquisitive person becomes that more destructive.
Taken to the Nth degree, we would have a pretty horrible society if everyone had an avaricious nature and was indifferent to the effects his greed has on those around him.
Thus, it is this indifference to others that is the root of all evil, greed the trigger of this attitude.

The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. The love of money means that one's whole life is taken up with the search for it, meaning that mind is taken completely off the search for God. One "cannot obey two masters."

its the love of money... not money...
the quote is the love of money is the root of all evil..
meaning... ppl do things in favor for gain... think about it... someone dies b/c of a drug deal gone wrong... the money is what made them kill the other person.... or when a lawyer turns a case down... even though he knows that the person is innocent, they don't have enough money for everything
this also have to do with greed.... gain for ones self only...
if some pervert hurts a child, they do this in gain for themselves...
