Both are good, and both are among the most difficult fields of engineering.
Electrical has the advantage that you learn a lot about computers, so you develop skills that are widely in demand.
But in chemical engineering you gain broad knowledge that can be used in a great variety of fields, since everything that is built is made out of some material, and every material has a chemical composition, and someone needs to figure out what chemicals (what materials) should be used to build it.
Two good alternatives. Hope you choose one that you will enjoy most.
Good luck!

Chemical Engineering will continue to grow and grow, the possiblilities are endless in this field.
Pay is sometimes irrelevant, the pay is good in both sectors - but how about the job satisfaction thing? I loved chemistry at school, where as the electrical part is mainly theory and maths. - i studied the chuffer to become an Electrical technitian - the inbetween bit from a Electrictian and an Engineer.

It depends on were you live and if you are willing to move. Here in California, Electrical is pretty high paying. Chemical is something big back east, for many companies. You have to do research on were you want to end up. I can help if you can give me more info.

As many others have pointed out, both are in demand and will pay well. I want to say that they are both consistently rated as being in the top 5 in terms of majors' starting salaries. So really it comes down to which is more interesting for you, and what would you like to do for a career.

both are challenging and in demand. check out both programs and see if one is "better" than the other at the schools you're considering. either way, you'll have good job prospects majoring in engineering. good luck.
