can you help me please? i have a slimline silver ps2 model scph 75003 ss the problem is when i turn it on and put a disc in it doesnt spin also when i go to the channel that its set up on it has a black screen and no browser menu or anything just black :S please can someone out there help me? thank you for the help

i am not sure i have the older ps2, and have never had any problems with it, but it sounds like you need to take it into the shop, good luck though.

Well, I'm not to experienced on PS2 consoles but this might help u out.
If its still under warranty, take it to the place where u bought the unit and see if they can fix it. If its not under warranty, u may have to fix it urself.
First, see if there's like a grinding noise or anything that's broken or loose.
It sounds to me that it might have dust inside the unit. Anyway, u may have to open it. Very carefully, open the unit and see if there's dust or something inside where the disc resides. Get urself a dust cleaner ( like the kind that comes in a spray can ) and very carefully clean out the dust.
If everything looks ok, check something called "white gear" and if that's ok, then try cleanning the inside of the unit from dust, to anything thas looks dirty, and also clean the lens that reads the disc, it might be dirty also. And after ur finish, put back everything and close the unit. And see if it works.
If everything works, u have succeded. I hope this can help u. And please, let me know. U can send me emails to:

be careful if you dismantle it. make a diagram of which screw went where (have a container ready to put small screws in).
