Why doesn't my web site come up when I put in a search for "fleet equestrian center" Same as url- http://

my website is http://fleetequestriancenter.com. If people can't search and pull it up, I don't get business. Does anyone know why it doesn't pull up my site when I type in a general search for "fleet equestrain center" THanks

Type in "http://www.fleetequestirancenter.com". Some browsers are not intuitive enough, or do not have the options set correctly, to recognize where you want to go without the "www". This is because you can actually go to a website that begins "ftp" or "mail" and others.

Try typing in "www.fleetequestriancenter.com" first. Then check with your web host that you haven't had an IP change and they are waiting for the DNS (domain name server) to update.

If I can suggest a few things.

1st off your domain name is a good one in the sense that it contains your keywords for your business niche. Also what you want to research a little more is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Now what you need to do is this.

1. consider re-designing your website with a blog. This will allow you to add pages, articles and information about your business very easily. Also if you use wordpress blog, you can find some very nice designs that have to deal with your niche.

2. Use the keywords as many times as you can on your website and in your pages explaining your services and site. So in this case you would need to use "equestrian" or other forms of the keyword. A keyword is a word that someone would use in a search engine to look up a topic.

3. Research on how to create meta-tages. These are placed in the header of your web page and not really seen by your visitors but are seen and used by search engines to see if your site.

In checking your site, you really have no meta-tags on it. So in a sense the search engines does not know your site is live.

4. Content Content Content. I can't tell you how search engines love articles and information about your niche. This is truly the best way to get SE to list your site.

5. Also Link exchange. This is also very important to learn and use. Search engine rank you based on how many other sites link to you. They feel if other sites are linking to you, then you must be a good site.

Have you submitted your site to the major Search Engines like Yahoo and Google? If not, they do not even know your site is there. Once you do submit them, it will take time. Your keywords on your site must be optimized for the spiders that the engines send out to crawl and index your site. Read up on Search Engine Optimization. Also, you may need to advertise your site. Try Yahoo Search marketing.

It can take quite a bit of time for a new website to find its way into the search engine's databases. Also make sure you have HTML tag keywords for any keywords you want to be found in the search. I suggest you go to Wikipedia and learn about search engines.
