Yes, while the monarchy has some support in England there is little support in the rest of the UK. Their position will eventually become untenable as people begin to realise that in the 21st century they are nothing more than an historical throwback.
The argument about their value as a tourist attraction doesn't make sense. If their palaces and estates were opened up to tourists I'm sure that would be very popular.

Well, this would be a very tough one to do, because it would mean unravelling the entire British constitution. As you are probably aware, Britain is one of the very few countries in the world that has an unwritten constitution (most modern states have a written constitution of some form). The British constitution has evolved organically over the past four hundred years or so, with a balance of power between government, parliament and judiciary. This has led to a very powerful and effective form of liberal democracy with checks and balances between these three bodies of state. Its not perfect but.... Anyway, the monarch has always been at the heart of this balance. If you do away with the monarch, you had better have a damn good constitution ready to replace all this because the whole lot comes down. So to answer the question: possible but hard to achieve and so unlikely to happen.

No. I mean we went to all that effort to kill the king, had an appalling war that set families against each other for generations, and then couldn't cope with a repulic and went and restored the monarchy! I just don't think we could be bothered to go through all that again.
And anyway what's so great about being a repulic anyway, just look at America! And France!

Britain has never been a republic. Under Cromwell it was a military dictatorship.
The best argument for retaining our constitutional monarchy is George W Bush.

I would like to think that we would keep the monarchy but I suspect that the British might review it once then next generation takes the throne.

Not while the Queen's still alive - and she could live to 100 like her mum, but then the choice would be Prince Charles as king or Tony Blair as president. Neither very appealing

Not during the current reign. Could be when Prince Charles becomes monarch unless he has the backbone his mother does. From an American in the land of Oz (Kansas).
