you should be ok to go out for a while. you'll most likely have post-birth bleeding slightly still at that point, but you'll be fine.

You should be okay by then. You will still have some bleeding at that time. I had to make a 5 1/2 hour trip for my great grandmother's funeral when my son was only 2 weeks old. It all depends on when you and if you are feeling up to going out or not. I asked my doctor if I could drink cause my 21st birthday was coming up and I was still breastfeeding my 2 month old son (at the time) and I wanted to at least have one drink on my one and only 21st birthday. She told me that I could drink if I wanted to but that I would need to wait at least 8 hours after I had my last drink to breastfeed him again. But if you are really concerned just ask your doctor.

I was going out when my baby was only 2 weeks old, but she was my third. And I'd already been through it all twice before. Everyone kept looking at me like I was crazy and asking me how old my baby was. There are things to be careful about when they are that young, since you don't want them to get sick. Usually doctors say to wait a month before taking your baby out in public, especially during the colder months when flu is going around. As far as how you'll be feeling, it all depends on how you birth and recovery goes. With my first I didn't really want to get out at all for the first couple of weeks, but I had stitches from tearing and a 24 hour long labor. But after my 2nd and 3rd deliveries which went better, I got out by myself after the first week because I was going crazy! I think you should be fine planning on going to her party.

I was up and walking around 3 hours after my daughter was born. I was out of the hospital 2 days later and I was out doing everything I was doing before I went in.
It depends on the individual. natural birth you should be up and about in no time if there are no complication.
C-section could keep you in bed for a while longer!
Congrats btw !!!!!!
I am sure you will be fine! As long as you take it slow and take it at your pace! This is if you have your baby on time! many new mothers are 2 weeks late. I wouldn't stress about it though. I am sure everything will work out smoothly! for you, the baby and the party!

You will feel like going out, but that doesn't mean you'll have the energy to. Or at least not the energy to get all dolled up anyhow. But you should go, because you will need some "me" time anyhow and a bday is the perfect reason to get it.

You should be able to do alot by then as long as there are no complications. It's important, too, that after the baby is born that you take good care of yourself - eat right, get as much sleep as you can, take vitamins, don't over work yourself.... the healthier you are the faster you'll pop back. Be sure to ask your doctor to be sure.
Good luck to you!

You'll probably feel fine. Like someone else said, you may still have a little bleeding, but nothing that a normal sized pad wont' take care of, as long as you take it easy, you'll be fine to go out!

You should be OK, I was out of the house after a week from having a C-section. You know your body better than anyone else and you'll know how much you can take.

That soon after the birth I definately felt like going out, but NOT like being separated from my baby. That soon post-partum I'd only plan an outing that could include baby if it were me.

i think you would feel up to it. especially if you feel you want to go.
the only reason that might occur if the baby would cry very often, wake you up at night a lot, etc and you'll be so exhausted that the only thing you would want is sleep. But it's impossible to predict now how your newborn would behave.
