has anyone else come across this problem and is there a solution to overcome the problem...mcafee help desk is only available during office days and hours!!! any help or ideas are welcome

It's probably the firewall in McAfee...try changing it so that your BT Communicator is allowed access.

I had a similar problem about eight years ago when I bought Mcafee antivirus; it caused my computer not to boot up properly, and I'm still waiting for an answer from them.

The only fix that worked for me was to get rid of Mcafee altogether and switch to using Norton products. I haven't had any problems since.

had this trouble with aol and mcafee best thing to do is start in safe mode (press f8 on initial start) go to system restore, pick an earlier date and restore to this date. then remove mcafee totally.chose better protection offered on www.download.com e.g. a.v.g. virus protection,spybot search and destroy etc
