Crack can be detected in your blood for up to about 2 hours and in your urine for approximately 48 hours. A number of factors can affect these figures, such as the strength and quantity you consume; how often you use and what other drugs you use; your tolerance; and your sex, age, health and metabolism. These factors can all interact in such a way that it is difficult to predict an accurate elimination time.

As far as I know, cocaine is out of the system within 48 hours because of its short half life.
I hope no-one would consider doing that to their own child though. If a person wants to mess with their own health, that's their choice, but don't inflict it on another's life.
If a person is not prepared to stop smoking crack while they are pregnant, I would suggest they are not mature enough to have the baby in the first place.
Also, because of the damage you are doing to your blood vessels by taking crack, it is possible that you will have a stroke or brain heamorrhage when giving birth. You won't think it's so funny when you're brain damaged, will you??

Since crack affects the development of the fetus, the hospital will know when they examine the baby that the mother had been smoking.
Thankfully, the baby will then be given to child protective services, who will ensure it is raised by loving, caring parents, and not a self-obsessed uncaring crack head.

I do hope this is just your sick sense of humor.
Anyway, for your information, a hair follicle test is the most accurate one for drug use. It can detect the drug for up to six months in your system. A judge can order it. On either you or the child. Doctors know a crack baby when they see one. Symptoms are not subtle.
Why the HELL would you bring a child into this world if you're addicted to crack?!? My two cents.

Yes it can. The mother should have stopped that when she knew she was pregnant. If the child is still alive at the time than yes they will know the mother smoked crack!
Sad just really sad!

you have got to be kidding me. you have to be 18 to vote, 21 to drink, but any crackhead can bring a kid into the world. this kid is sure to have a great chance in life.

You need to go to rehab and see a doctor asap because if you don't your baby is going to be born with birth defects that were caused by you and could have been prevented!

number one you should not be smoking crack while you are pregnant but that is beside the point. your baby will be born with an addiction. and it will increase the chances of your baby being mentally challenge.

The baby is an addict and you are going to jail for child abuse. I am not joking. This is a serious situation for this baby.
