Argentina for me..because Lionel Messi was not given much chance to play when he is often touted as the new Diego Maradona and he is indeed a good player..and then because Argentina lost to Germany..no offense to Germany fans but Argentina played so much better than Germany..when they lost,I was like what happened to Argentina? And my brother who rarely watches football matches was also like not believing the fact that Argentina lost to Germany..Germany is a good team, but Argentina is better..I remember that in that match,Argentina had the game under their control by 63% and Germany 37%..that's a big difference if you ask me..somehow,it's over now..so no use for me to be disappointed with Argentina and France..I hope that in WC2010,the matches will be way much better,no controversial refereeing and no diving and cheating among the players..play the beautiful game, play it from the heart..in the beautiful game, dribblers are kings and divers are thrown into the pit..that's my simple opinion..

Brazil- for obvious reasons.
England-because they are capable of so much more. I will never be able to forgive Sven G-E for his mismanagement and stupidity. Although current skipper McLaren just looked on, condoning it. Why didn't they replace Becks with Lennon earlier on when David was obviously not able to cope with the heat and was dehydrating? Why on earth did they not give Walcott, at least a run out? That kid's so fast he'd have scared them to death. The questions are unending, why couldn't Lampard and Gerrard work with instead of against one another? Why on earth did they continually frustrate Wayne Rooney who was fast looking like a caged animal? The formation was total crap, and on and on it goes. And what it adds up to is another frustration that England shouldn't have had to bear!!!

Its got to be USA. They were ranked in the top 10 the last four years and did not make it out of the first round. That was extremely poor. Defense was porous and the offense did not make any kind of serious threats. The whole team seemed out of sync and outclassed all together.

I would have to say the Czech Republic. They couldn't make
it out of their group, despite their high FIFA ranking at the
time. They were in the top 10 at the time, and they couldn't do
better than a third place finish. USA was also disappointing
as well, finishing at the bottom of their group, proving once
again what a joke the FIFA rankings are, since they were
also in the top 10 at the time.

It would have to be England. Any team that has John Terry, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and of course.....Stevie Gerrard should have done much better than they did. However, being a Scotsman, I took great delight in seeing them play poorly and get sent home well before the final. Even better since we had "How great are we" rammed down our throats by the media prior to the World Cup starting.

Czec Republic was one everyone thought would Win it all! Because they were ranked number 1 in the World. And because they were the closest team to Hungary! Injuries had a key part in them bowing out of the 1st round. France, some could say was even more dissapointing. Because Zidane made a costly mistake in losing his cool and getting red carded off. They might have Won it all!

USA in every respect.
They wasted their spot at the World Cup: bad tactics, bad coaching, poor player selection, poor player execution, lack of faith, stupid-stupid mistakes on the pitch, incohesisve game plan.
It was an EMBARRASSMENT!
4-5-1 only works when you have a quality target man. McBride is good, but he's not the target man type, so it was never going to work. The team didn't beleve in the system and it showed on attack. Against the Czecks, it was obvious the defense didn't know the system - huge lapses. And they didn't know about the Referee's clinic and rule enforcement either.
USA was a disorganized mess without focus, passion and belief. I enjoyed Trinidad and Tobago far more. They at least played with complete heart and passion.
