I made it to 1,024 best answers as of this posting.
I've seen over 6,000 best answers (Raju has 7,300 as of 9/30/06 1905 EDT). Most of the Level 7 people have 1,000 best answers or more. I focus on percentage - I was 8% Best Answer before becoming selective and working my way up to 17%. I try not to cut and paste the same answer all over again - defeats the purpose of having this forum.
I've become geeky and prepared a spreadsheet of every best answer - 39% have been in three topics. The bottom 11 topics only generated 103 best answers - so I try to improve the percentages in that department.

It's debatable.
The scoreboard leader may have the most best answers technically but this does not mean that he has the most best answers.
There are Y!A users out there that own many more best answers but don't use the scoreboard as a pinball machine!
If you call copy and pasting answers in mass best answers, then that's your prerogative.
