I went back to the Spectrum store to exchange my oil. I purchased 10W40 and I needed 5W/30. The store refused to exchange them for me because I didn't have my reciept. The man that sold them to me was off today. I shop there evryday and she knows this and ses me all the time, but still refused. So I told her (Naughty Bits Deleted), the Police got there and the store refunded my money because they didn't have 5w/30. Did I act inappropriately or was I just??

Rule #1 aAways keep your receipt.
Rule# 2 Never argue with the cashier..take your complaint to the manager.

My situation dissolved, but only after the Police were called. If I was robbing the store I can u\then understand why to call Police, but I lost my Mr. Cool when the Manager even refused it and she knows me very well everyday I shop there. That's when I felt predjudice hitting me and I exploded in a rage and demanded. I was in a bad mood and if I had went to jail over this crap I can't p[ossible think what I would do in my conditon. Disabled Veterans..coming back from Saudia Arabia lose their cool.

I have a business and like most all other business owners I know not to treat customers this way out of basic kindness and also because the outcome is never good.

Let's say that Spectrum is out $5 in profit. Surveys show that when customers are unhappy about a transaction they tend to mention it to an average of five or so people. The end result is that business is hurt more by the talk that goes on. Since you shop there often, she should be able to figure out that it is not in the store's best interest to offend you.

While legally they don't have to refund your money or exchange your purchase, it makes absolutely no sense not to exchange a purchase and generate one more happy customer. I don't know what this girl was thinking and it seems the police didn't either.

We all lose our cool on occasions, maybe you should have gone back to the store when the person who sold it to you was there. Yes, always keep a receipt that is very important I agree. Next time you will know what to do, take a deep breath and take some time out.

This happens all the time. You are lucky you got a refund. What happened to THE CUSTOMER IS ALL WAYS RIGHT. I do understand that there is a lot of stuff that gets stolened and taken back for the money but i wunder what the percentile versus returning stuff that is brought out right to the stuff that is actually stoled.

Totally appropriate. What did they think - that you go around your city carrying a case of stolen motor oil and try to refund it for cash? phucking morons. Good for you....

They legally don't have to refund your money if that is their policy. Next time either keep your reciept or write down what you need.
