Always think what would happen and it fills me with a nameless dread. Not to sound like a snob, I've always been in work and the thought of having to try and live on little or nothing scares the life out of me. I suppose once you get used to living with a certain amount it's hard to think of living without it. As for options not a day goes by when I don't regret not staying on at achool, going college etc and learning something useful like a trade. Because I didn't do this, options?........................I have none

You should always have something saved to get you through a period of being out of work... Most people are over dependent in that they are only about three paycheques away from the backruptcy courts if you know what I mean. To get another job you should keep an eye on who the good recruitment consultants are in your area....

I am very blessed in the fact that my husband and I own an Electrical business but I also work full time elsewhere. If I was to give up my regular job, I would work from the shop full time. That is what I hope to do one day.

I've been applying for jobs for the last few months and it's taking ages, so yep, if I lost my job tomorrow I'd be stuffed, I'd have no money but my savings (which aren't much at all). Then again I guess I have my parents and boyfrined to lean on, so I'm luckier than most.

be up **** creek.self employed, but would better off working for someone else,, least then i could have a holiday1week in 2 1/2 years, unpaid,, being a divorcee,, well it,s down to me to pay all the bills, if i did.nt own my own home{ mortgaged} and lived in a government home i.e local council, then the state has to pay, i would have to wait 6 months , before they pay the interest only, by that time i would have my home repossessed.keeping on track, well i have thought of fostering, it pays well. you get to stay at home,, its something i have always wanted to do,, irregardless of the money. at least then i might get a life.

I have some savings, so I would be OK to meet my basic living expenses for a few months but I would have to cut out all the extras (eating out, cable etc). Eventually, however, if I didn't find something I would have a very hard time paying my rent and that would be very bad.

not overly dependant on my job i would have to trim my spending a bit and do more voluntary work to occupy myself untill i found another, or go to college full time. i might even get to sign on the dole for the first time and get some of that tax back that i've paid all these years

I too would be poor, live one toast, dress my son in cast-offs, lose my car, home and be very very unhappy.
I actually like my job, but nothing is 100%, i would instantly go searching for another job if the worst came to the worst.
My job gives me a little bit of sanity, routine and normality.
My options are that i have to work, but i work to live i dont live to work. and hey! do i enjoy what i reap!!!

i hat emy job, but it's a good wage. i would love to lose it if i had the money, i am really dependant on the income but given the choice i would rather be a housewife. Cook, Clean, Shop, Watch crap on daytime telly, spend more time with my pets and my family...I wish. pity that money really does make the world go round

I'd be looking at a cardboard box and my flimsy sleeping bag. Maybe a bottle of Ripple on a cold night.
