Poorly conceived generic contracts resulting in messy hand overs.
Without a bat of an eyelid, land and people are viewed as assets. Such were the opulence of old wealth that has present and future generations clearing up the mess, for want of trade routes, strategically sound military forts and lebens raum (living space). Makes one wonder if there was any true difference between Germany's demonised Hitler were he born during the pre-modern age of conquest.

Required studies into historical legal events:

- Spain, as former colonial master, formed the Madrid agreement. "Spain will proceed forthwith to institute a temporary administration in the Territory, in which Morocco and Mauritania will participate in collaboration with the Djemaa and to which will be transferred all the responsibilities and powers referred to in the preceding paragraph..." (para. 4)

2. Britain, as former colonial master, oversaw the transition of Tibet.

- Spain "relinquishes" Falklands to Britain.

- Tripartite Spanish, Dutch and British management of Gibraltar.

- The exception may be Nortern Ireland, where the Vikings failed to complete their lust of conquest and in their search for living space.

Why do we occupy the US when so many say we stole from the indians? You can't just give something back after hundreds of years. There are too many innocents with vested interest. They should have to pay for a mistake their great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandparents did.

Because it is the natural order of things. I believe that, as a superpower, America can do whatever we damn well please. I don't care what a bunch of gimpy little third-world nations think. If they were worth anything they wouldn't be third-world to begin with. America should model its behavior on the Roman Empire.
