He is right, except that it is Conroe and Merom, and the mobile processor from Intel is also called Core 2 Duo. Also AMD now has a dual core mobile processor, the Turion 64 X2 TL-60. The prices are roughly as follows
Intel Core 2 Extreme: $950
Core 2 Duo Mobile T7600: $660
Althon 64 FX-62: $700
Turion 64 X2 TL-60: $400

The intel desktop is Core Duo EXtreme edition with codename Conrow and codenamed Merow for mobile (this is no extreme edition for mobile). The Intel mobile is called Centrino Duo.
AMD has the Althon FX-62 X2 is the fastest for desktop, as for mobile, it's the turion ml-44 X2.
All these CPUs are EXTREMELY expensive. For example, the new intel Conrow extreme edition is more than $1500 (just the CPU).

ok i check out the two and it is my respond , for overall performance and little or no gaming then the i5-2450m with the intel hd 3000 photograph card is nice for you, now once you into some gaming, only good video clips ,video clips in hd , video games like sims video games , and actual looking multi-tasking , then the amd quad center a8-3520m with the discrete photograph card is for you greater bang on your dollars it is the greater advantageous own computing gadget for you
