i get urinary infections ALOT. and im sick of it. nothing seems to work. i used to take Uristat to help relieve symptoms but that seems to have worn out. antibiotics stop it but it tends to come back within weeks. The pain is so bad and having nothing to relieve it makes everything worse. I've been checked for STD;s and the results have came back negative.it seems like every little thing will cause a UTI for me. drinking too much orange juice or anything with citric acid. please. someone help. does anyone else have this problem?

Every day you should drink half your body weight in oz. of water- Everyday!!
for instance- if you weigh 140lbs- you NEED to drink 70oz. of water EVERYDAY!!!
make sure the water is pur and filtered- It will make an incrediable diference in your whole life - not to mention rid your self of bladder/urinary/yeast infection etc.
LOOK I DONT THINK YOU QUITE UNDERSTAND. 70 OZ OF WATER EVERY DAY- HOW MANY OZ HAVE YOU DRANK TODAY?
4 out of 5 women who get recurring uti's will get one w/ in 18 months- it is most likely a lifestyle. wiping from front to rear. less sugar than you normally eat/drink. no baths etc.
odds are that you dont understand- and just want some miracle drug to do a quick fix- thats not going to work- ever- it will take work!!!

Cranberry juice is the only thing that worked for me aside from prescription meds. A doctor once told me to make sure you urinate soon after having intercourse to kinda wash away or kill some outside germs that may cause a UTI.

Cranberries, cranberries and more...cranberries! I have the same problem and I seem to have it under control now by taking in a lot of cranberries.
Go to your health food store and buy the capsules they are a lot of cranberry condensed into one easy to swallow pill. Much easier than trying to drink the juice daily. Follow the directions but I only have to take one a day to keep my bladder and urinary tract healthy. It really works!
Good luck :-)

i take cranberry pills, and drink cranberry juice as well.... but not while taking the pills.
I drink cranberry juice on a regular bases, and the pills when i have an infection. I also drink ALOT of water as this helps keep them away.
if you are having alot of infections it would be wise to see or Doctor.. or at least call the RN at you hospital... she can also help you with giving you advise or weather or not you need to see your doctor

A Cipro is a very good antibiotic for UTI's. Also see a urologist, there is something called urethral stenosis, that can be a cause of recurrent UTI's.

You might be passing a bug back and forth between you and your lover. You might both want to visit urology at the same time to get swabbed.
I hate to mention it, but any contact with anal area and penis is going to be a source for bacteria. Even if you are not having anal sex, you might be rubbing or touching that area and transfering the bacteria.
