I need to know the title and the singer of a song that's been in my mind for 25 years.?

The lyrics go like this, "come with me, on this happy trip back to the promised land. come we'll be happy and gay". The lyrics may not be entirely accurate...I was a kid when I heard this song, and it's been in my mind since.
