Hi all,

Ever been in the situation where you had a job interview to go to but were already working full-time? I'm not able to swap shifts with anyone. What might be a good and believable excuse to be absent for just one day - any ideas? Cheers!

It is preferable to use a personal or vacation day, so that your present employer is not caught off guard by your last-minute absence. However, if the only possible way is to call out sick, then it may be worth doing if the new opportunity seems good.

You dont need to tell your employer what you are doing with your personal day, its your business.

Also, during your interview, if you are asked how you managed to get off of work to interview, it will be favorable if you can answer that you used a form of planned absence, such as vacation or floating holiday, rather than calling in sick. It wouldn't make a good impression on your new potential employer.

Good luck!

attempt networking by way of friends and kinfolk. in case you hae somebody on the interior who can advise you, you will stand a stronger hazard of having a job. i might take a confusing look on the type you act whilst on interviews or submitting purposes. some thing approximately you is popping human beings off - possibly you return in the process as boastful or rude evern nevertheless you do not advise to. in case you have an interview and don't get the job, ask the interviewer to tell you what you may exchange, if something.

Tell them a white lie, like your uncle is sick and you are the only one that can take him to a doctors appt or something then when you get done with your interview you can go back to work and nobody will be the wiser.

Do you need an excuse. If you set up the interview in advance can you take a scheduled vacation or personal day without giving reasons?

Just tell your supervisor that you have personal business to take care of, which will require a few hours, or the whole day. Be up front, and you won't have to cover your tracks. You boss need not know what this personal business is.

On the job the day before, tell co-workers you're not feeling good. Then when you're "sick" the next day,it's more believable.

People will say, "well, he wasn't feeling good yesterday..."

*Chuckles* Depending how well you get along with your boss you could just say "I'm taking off 3 hours- I have a job interview- bye"

Watch their eyes get large,,,and if they fire you? So what you wanted to leave anyway- this way, they'll KNOW
