According to research goldfish don't have a short memory span.
Read 'Moby Dick' by Herman Melville, or 'Jaws' by Peter Benchley to it. That should bring a smile to it's face. Also get it a new dancing partner.
'Call me Ishmael'.

Be careful here, because the other goldfish may be sick from whatever killed the other fish. Check your ph and ammonia levels. Give him a week to snap out of it. If all is well, you can buy another fish or buy things to stimulate him like food that falls to the bottom of the tank or maybe some blood worms. He is use to having stimulation. Make sure he is not ill FIRST.
Good Luck and Take Care.

Contrary to popular belief, goldfish have a longer memory than the 4 seconds. They can in fact remember much longer. Firstly, I would change the water tank. Illnesses can easily pass from fish to fish so a clean sparkling tank should ensure fishy is well. Fish also like a natural environment. Buy water plants and rocks which fishy can enjoy. DO NOT get brightly coloured toys like castles, these only will scare your fish more. Like most fish, they enjoy shoaling so of course he would appreciate a new pal.

Sounds more like he is suffering from the same problems that killed the other fish. Don't feed him for three days. Change 25% of the water today, and again in three days. Buy then he should be feeling a lot better.

I'm sure he's fine and will get over this but if not try changing some of the water get him a tunnel to swim through, feed him but be careful not to give too much and if this all fails try getting another fish. Also you can get special tonics that you put in the water to get them healthy ask your local pet shop they should beable to advise something. good luck.

I had the same problem with my fish. Here is a quick remedy for your sad gold fish. Put a mirror on the outside of the tank facing in, so the fish can see the reflection of itself. It will try to interact with its reflection. this should work until you get another fish. I hope your fish is happy soon.

Take the goldfish out of the water and permit it flop around somewhat. Then whilst it quite is on it is final fin, drop it lower back into the water. have faith me you will see a super grin like a cheshire cat because it sucks the water by way of its gills. lol :)

I'd say that the first goldfish was probably sick and now the other one is sick. Or it could just be getting old! I have goldfish too, and if one died I'd get another one, but it's up to you.

dance around naked in the dark with a father christmas hat whilst munching a prawn at the end of a kebab!
seriously - you might wanna get it a partner? hello? change the water and get some aqualibrium salts it helps fight off diseases. make sure the pump works fine and that there's enough oxygen in the water, i.e in the form of a plant or two. but get a partner or the poor thing will die of loneliness!
