Word, i went through the same faze where i would be all sad just for attention. Id say give him a test, see if he really is depressed, and if hes not, tell him to stop his bitching and keep real mother ******.

Well if he;s your boy then you can only do so much to make him feel good with ot crossing those lines. I think its ok to give him a little modivation, hugs, encouragment. Keep your relationship stickly plutonic, no SEX!! Go out with him or invite him places with you and your girls I did it for my boy and it helped a little.
