I was really surprised to log on to dallas stars.com today and find that Morrow is the new team captain. I thought it was in his future but he's only 27 so I thought if there was a change, Zubov would be next. Maybe they want a long time captain so they're trying someone very young and hard working. What do you fans from around the NHL think? By the way congrats and good luck to #10 Morrow.

If anyone does not believe me, log on to Dallas Stars.com. It's easy to do and it should be 1 of the top 3 headlines for a few days. Ol Mo sure looks upset, I would be.

Wow, I thought Modano would remain captain until he retires.
Morrow's not a bad choice, but I would have waited until Modano retired.

I don't think 27 is too young to be named captain. I think Morrow will make a good captain but I sure would like to know why they took it from Modano or why Modano gave it up, whichever way it goes.
And Habitant he wasn't named captain just for the preseason. It's on tsn.ca that he has been named captain for the 2006-07 season.
Like I said, I sure would like to know why Modano no longer is captain.

I thought Mike Modano was captain. Was he stripped of the "C"? I think he should be the captain because he's a leader on the team and he has more experience than Morrow. This really surprises me.

"Only" 27? That's not a bad age at all to be named captain. Most captains get named when they are often younger than that--look at Stevie Y, Wayner, etc. It's just 'cause you guys had Carbo and Hatcher before that you may think only long-serving vets get the "C."

are you sure that Modano and Zubov probably didn't play the last pre-season game and they put the C on Morrow. cause i don't see them taking it from a veteran player like Modano that has been their his entire career.

I was surprised and a little sad. I love Mike Modano. I think Brendan is great too but Modano rules.

That is a rip if they stripped Modano of the "C". He is a class act and the best player EVER to play in Dallas.
A total roast man...

I think that this was ridiculous thing to do because he's so young and I am a huge fan of Mike Modano and I think they should have kept him as their captain.
