Did you know that a lot of very intelligent, beautiful, sensitive and wonderful people are afraid to fly? I say that because I'm afraid to fly too!!!! LOL ;o) You're in good company, a lot of people are afraid to fly. Just remember the stats; you're safer flying that traveling with ANY other means. What always helps me is to remind myself that there are hundreds of flights taking off and landing as you're reading this note and nothing is going wrong with them. Same with tomorrow, and same for the day after, and same for the next.
Hope that helps and have a safe flight.
ps I also become a bit more religious when I fly!!! LOL Prayer can't hurt anything!!!

Ah, the way I see it is to marvel at what you are actually doing. I mean you are in a plane thousands of feet in the air. Just look at it this way, think of it as a bus or a boat and try and understand the physics of it. Planes take off, turn, speed up and slow down just like any other modes of transportation and there is nothing to be afraid of. You have a better chance of something bad happening to you driving your car on the freeway then in a plane. Enjoy your flight!

Most aircraft accidents happen on either take off or landing, This represents about 4-5 minutes of your entire flight time. So if you really must get nervous do so on the first two and the last three minutes, between those two events relax and enjoy your flight

Explain the situation to your doctor, and request a mild sedative; or get with a hypnotist and ask about ways that you could use your mind for control over your feelings.

You can try taking a dose of Benadryl. It is a very common and mild sedative; it will help you feel more relaxed, and it will prevent you from feeling nauseated because of the motion.
