shirts with buttons buttoned all the way to the top. I see that those victorian collared shirts are showing up in mags again. Is this buttoned up look coming back? Girls, Would you or do you wear your clothes this way? Boys, do you like this look and why?

My question was a fashion question really, My boy friend likes all kinds of looks on my (actually I think he just like me the best) but this one he requests the most. It's not a control thing.

I personally like the buttoned up to the collar look but it has to work for you. The look is definitely coming back, so if you feel comfortable with it, and you find something that looks good on you, make him happy. It's kind of a proud, smart look I think. I also like to offset it a bit by wearing off beat ear rings to make the look even cooler and irreverent.
Have Fun

Buttoned up Victorian collar shirts are a current trend, but don't dress this way just because some guy wants you to, wear the shirt if you honestly like it.

I don't understand what you're saying.
1- So your boyfriend likes a certain style of shirts and wants you to wear it?
2- Or your boyfriend is very very conservative that he wants you to button up your shirts (any shirt) all the way? And he won't let you wear minis and stuff like that?
If #1, try it, you might like it and yes, those victorian, ruffly, puff sleeve shirts are very fashionable and cute. But I wouldn't button up all the way unless it has a special accent on the neck that requires that.

If #2, your boyfriend shouldn't impose his ideas on you, especially when it comes to a type of life style or religion or political views.

As a guy I like the look. One great thing about women is that they can really do anything with what they wear, so if you don't mind, then do it.
I personally like the look because I think a women's face and neck are very sexy, and the buttoned up blouse or dress is a smart look. Smart is a total turn on (don't ask me why). I think half naked is a good look too, but you can get that anywhere. Smart looking women know what they are doing when they dress and that is very attractive.

You must talk seriously with this guy and let him know that you're free to choose your own wardrobe. It's not a matter of fashion but to stand for your freedom and ways to be, wearing thight clothes, or a button loose doesn't make you a happyhour gal, and I beleive that he thinks that of you. I dated this guy who would want me to wear extra large (when my fit size is medium or large if the T's too tight) shirts and T's, he was gone because I exchange a shirt he gave me from extra to medium, he went bananas and demand me to wear very extra large clothes only when I'm slim built.

Definately not if it were up to me i'd like to see some skin eg; cleavage. Buttoned all the way up makes you look like a Librarian, prison guard and so on, So i say unbuttoned.

Yeah...it seems alright...he might like the fashion and wants to see what you look like in it. But if you don't want to wear it, then don't. It's just another fashion thing...I wouldn;t worry about it too much.

i personally like them, because i work in a professional environment, so they look cute with business skirts/suits.

If you like the look and can pull it off, why not try it? Target and H&M are two stores that sell cute cheap versions :)

If it's something my husband likes and I also like the look I'll wear it.

But if he likes it & I don't.....then I don't wear it.

His input is good but I have the final say.
