I thought the lightbulb blew, so I tried changing the bulb, but that didn't work...tested the bulbs and they were fine. Figured out that our computer is on the same circuit and it isn't turning on either. Changed the fuses but it is still not resolving the issue. Does anyone out there know what else might be causing the lack of power?

It is possible that a connection came loose in an outlet, especially if the "back stabbing" method of daisy chaining between outlets was used. You may need to call an electrician, unless you are comfortable pulling outlets out of the wall and checking the connections.

Is there a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) in the circuit? Look for an outlet with 2 little push buttons on it. This is like a circuit breaker, but it's made for use near sinks, etc. Try pressing the "reset" button if you find it.

If that's not it, are you sure you switched the right fuse?

Finally - use an extension cord to plug the computer in to another outlet that you know works. If the computer still doesn't come on, it has problems.

Call an electrician you have lost continuity to that circuit, probably a loose connection or a burned off wire, electrician should be able to find it quickly with test equipment. Probably about a 1 hour charge for service call.

Check your fuse again with an ohmeter. It is not uncommon to have a bad fuse....especially if you had to dig it out of a utility drawer. And it could also be that the fuse has blown again....meaning that you have a more severe problem.

Sounds like you might have overloaded your circuit, causing it to trip. To be sure what it is, you should call an electrician; even if it turns out to be simple, it is better safe than sorry.

You could have faulty wiring. You should check along the wire for a cut. If you dint find one you should call a professional or try to change the wire yourself.
