I assume you have a car. I would go to the "hill" in south St. Louis because they have restaurants with the best authentic Italian food. I highly recommend Favazza's. The food is excellent along with the service. They have a website so you can look them up and find directions.
As far as fun things to do I haven't found much in the 5 years I have been living in the area. There is a Dave & Busters which is a arcade/bar for adults. It is a good distance from downtown.
There is also the zoo which is free and a farely good distance also. There are quite a few bars/clubs in downtown St. Louis.
Other then that there is not much.
What ever you do be very careful downtown because there are a lot of drug addicts and homeless people constantly harassing others for money. Don't ride the metro link (the train that goes through town) because it can also be pretty scary going through some of the worst neighborhoods.
I don't know if you have ever been to St. Louis, but if you haven't you will find it a run down overrated city.

The Loop is fun and has good places to eat and hang out. You MUST go to Blueberry Hill!!! There's also the walk of fame with famous St Louisans-- you'll be surprised who you see! Brandts is also very good for a meal. Saleem's offers Lebanese--delicious! There's a sushi bar. Red Sea offers African cuisine, I THINK. Go check it out. There's always a lot of local talent performing. And a parking garage is an added plus that wasn't always there. I grew up just across the river from St Louis and this was my favorite neighborhood to visit until I moved away. OMG I forgot to tell you about the Tivoli-- a very un-Hollywood theater (where I had the Rocky Horror Show "experience"for the first time). GO!

I had about a 2 hour layover on the bus in St louis once and I met this girl whose final destination was St louis and we hung out for a little while. I had a little hippie lettuce on me but no papers so I ran out real quick and bought some. Me and her and her friend who picked her up got high right there in the parking lot of the bus station. Maybe you could do that. When I went to get the papers I noticed a post office so you could probably mail a letter. I also saw a huge building that started with a K (kerr or kiev or karl) or something like that. It looked like a huge basketball arena or something. Maybe you could go there.

You probably can't get Cards tickets, but all the bars near Busch stadium are really fun on game days.
The weather is nice right now for sitting outside. There are several bars in Soulard area with great outdoor gardens.
The Anheuser Busch brewery tour is fun, interesting, and free. You even get to see the Clydesdales, and sample free beer and pretzels at the end. No reservation required!
Laclede's Landing has varied activities including educational horse-drawn carriage rides, theater from the Royal Dumpe and the Wax Museum, along with a number of bars and restaurants, and the President Casino.

The best place to eat and have fun in the same place would definitely be the Harrahs casino! My recommendation is the Voo-Doo lounge to eat, maby rent a room for the night in the motel and do a little gambling! FUN< FUN!
