Because pantyhose offer many more benefits than just looking great. Hosiery offers support for your legs - beneficial both when standing a lot or sitting. Hosiery also provides a small amount of slimming, depending on the amount of spandex in them. Lets not forget the most important reason of all: THEY ARE COMFORTABLE!!!

You can wear tighter jeans or pants with hose on underneath, and it's easier to get them on and off. Also, they firm up your butt and cut down on the 'jiggle' factor. Helps when wearing heels too.
They also add a layer of warmth in cold weather, especially windy conditions. My g/f used to wear them while skiing, she talked me into trying it, and they did help with the windchill under the long underwear and ski pants.

hahaha. sorry i dont mean so laugh. its just that i do that... i only do it because i get cold really easily.. so i do it to keep myself warm. but there are also other advantages... for example. you can wear them and not weat panties. so no panti line. and if you are tryign to wear some really tight jeans the pantyhose make it easier to slide them on or off...

I know a few people who do this. I'd never understood it before but I have been told it keeps your legs warm and means if you're wearing shoes which would show your socks then you don't have to go barefoot.

I wear them in winter only..becoz it's very cold and jeans makes me feel cold without them:)

i dont have a clue. my french teacher did it the day and somegirls keep tights on under tracksuit bottoms for games but desn it make you sweat. i've never done it.
