And how many security guards are there in the schools?

i live in OHIo, there is nothing gated or secured here.
a person can walk right into the schools and do whatever the
heck they want,
its awful. Theres a sign on the doors that read "all visitors must
report to the office" yeah, like a shooter will comply to that!
small towns have no security in schools at all! its real scary!

By gated do you mean that the kids have to walk through security to get into the building? I would think that would be pretty expensive for a school to install and run something like that every day.

My high school has a student population of about 1850 kids and there are 5 security people in addition to the over 100 other staff members.

Not too many years ago you didn't have to worry about school shootings and terrorist attacks so there was no reason to have gates around the school and security guards.

Most schools that I've seen are not only gated, but their security is so tight it makes me think of a low-security prison. Then again, I grew up in South Florida, and that's practically another country...
