Theoretically, probably yes. In the sense we're free to conjecture anything we like. But, I think you meant experimentally. So far, I don't believe any evidence has been gathered.
A good starting point is to define exactly what one means by Ghost. Supernatural Ghosts, by definition, are outside the realm of scientific understanding (hence the term super-natural), so they can't be observed or modeled with known experimental or theoretical apparatus.
If evidence is gathered, repeatably, and consistently, then we'd be forced to extend our Scientific understanding to accommodate the phenomena.

Too much. It' simple.
1) If ghosts do exist, then yes, there should be a scientific way to prove their existence. No one knows just what that is yet.
2) If ghosts don't exist, then we're stuck, because you can't disprove their existence, especially when we don't know "what" they are.
3) If ghosts exist and they're smart enough to keep us from detecting them...I added this one because we can also change "ghost" to "God" and get the same answers.

It seems like people only believe when it happens to them, so I think even in theory it would be hard to prove. I believe ghosts exist, but I was exposed to strange phenomenon in my home at a very young age, so I'm not one who has ever doubted their existence.

No! There is no such thing as a ghost! Ghosts are a figure of imagination! We humans like to have something to look forward to after we die, hope that death isn't just going to end up in being eaten by worms and the like, so, almost in dispair, we have to have the belief that we'll keep on going!

To proove existence of gosts in the first instance we have to switch off our minds away from polorised thought, we have to train our thought process to level the concious and the subconcious mind to an abiltiy to allow three dimensional rotation, superimposition of the wandering mind like fishing, this ability is functional in the domain of contemplation just as mentioned in yoga philiosophy, however the practioner should have the courage to overcome his/hers fears like an adventure of spontenious urge to experience a sensation, to venture in the understanding of what i am expressing will enable our mental process to provide the necessary paths by which we can introduce that ghosts do exist in a practical sense that motivates our attitudes and drives in desire to be attracted to the reality of past present and furture.
I have a graphic example of this and can e-mail on request as this is a part of my essay on lifesciences "Concept of creation".
I hope this has given an opening to this question as the answers are attainable both in real and virtual terms this could qualify scientifically also since we are both intellectual and emotional animals of habit so what is indoctrined becomes the focus of the path that we tend to utilise to answers of questions and ponderings.
we have to evaluate the physics and chemistry of our shadows and time movements of the sun that provides to us the period of optima and minima by which our visual considerations are expressed by the emotional pressure that is silently weighed to motivate the outcome of the need answers ghosts are the particle accelators of the universal soul, the time warp of the past to remind us of our preparation to the future.
We took away time the charioter of God, and created it into a measurement, this inprisoned god, yet we are still waiting for a miracle to cure the ills of the world. This it self is the ghost of all the question that subsides the need of real ghosts . I hope this helps relieve or even probably more confusing.

Well, if people say they've seen ghosts then they can be observed, and if they can be observed then some sort of scientific stamp could be put on it. However, I think its fairly obvious that people who say they've seen a ghost were mistaken as to what they were actually seeing.

Sadly, no. Since the premise of ghosts is based on a theological argument in the first place (namely that after you die your soul lives on) there's no scientific next step for finding proof.

Well, your statement is whether ghosts COULD exist. Since it is impossible to irrefutably prove that they CAN'T, I suppose there's your proof.
Having said that, let me add that this is an example of bad science - your statement is basically an appeal to ignorance. Just remember that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

theoretically, no...
anecdotal reasoning... the closest of all, perhaps... there's soo many frequencies that haven't been attributed a certain origin, it's impossible to empirically prove they belong to ghosts, or anything else\

I haven't heard any possible way that a ghost could exist, but searching google you will find an article on ghost electrons. I suggest you read it. Please tell me if it helped.
