If you're in the US, go to a college/university journalism program and GET AN INTERNSHIP. It's the only way to get your foot in the door of a TV station. Then be prepared to start in Wyoming or North Dakota and work your way up.

as u r just applying for the post of reading news. the best news casters reside on BBC and u catch their accent. well most importantly give a demonstration. for which u must stand in front of a mirror and cast any article to yr self if you feel like it being OK or extra ordinary then most probably go for it b confident and believe in what u say.

Take journalism, speech and acting courses in college. Then when you get a degree go apply.
