I think it's anti-war (or liberal) to report ONLY the soldiers deaths. The media never mentions their accomplishment, like the majority of Iraq being secure, school and infrastructure rebuilt, etc.

We live in an Information Society. We communicate like never before and therefore we expect access to information we would not have had access to years ago.
What we once found shocking in the 60' & 70's is everyday stuff to most people now. During Vietnam and prior wars, we couldnt call our soilders and see how they were doing or send them an email, nor could they do the reverse. Now it's done everyday.
As with anything you can have too much and overkill it. My son served year before last and returned safely. Many do not and I think that even though it is well intentioned, and nmeant to be done in respect, the "Media" has deminnished the sadness and the importance of each soilder death, by turning it into a ratings thing. What ever happened to dignity in a servicemans/ womans death? It is up to the family to tell people (if they choose) the pertinant information about their family member and the what's and how's of thier death... not the medias.
I remember when they were repectufully printed (usually a monthly thing) in the local newspaper after the family had been notified and had had the opportunity to quietly grieve... Not blurted out to the world....most of whom are no longer interested.

one million) there is not a liberal media. this could be a fantasy. 2) only considering you're soldier, it would not immediately propose you have honor. infantrymen can rape and scouse borrow and do terrible issues only like the generic public can. 3) the warriors who're loss of life in Iraq at the instant are not protecting democracy. 4) The deaths which you have indexed have not something to do with conflict. Why might reporter of any stripe point out them till there grow to be a bias? The activity of a reporter is write with regard to the information - to be purpose.

We don't call them liberal for reporting deaths of soldiers. They better be reporting them. We call them the liberal media because their stories are rarely two sided. They report what they want to report to advance their political agendas.
When was the last time you saw them interview soldiers to see how they feel about being in Iraq and Afghanistan? They don't!

Why do you ask so many questions?
Please, just go back to work, mind your business, and realize that the Government of the United States of America is doing everything it can to keep its citizens safe and sound.
Remember, ignorance is bliss and allows us to help you.
If you need a more detailed answer, read 1984 - its a quick read and you won't even have to buy the book. Just go to Borders, buy yourself a Grande soy with whip sugar free vanilla latte, 1 pump cinammon, one pump caramel served at 137 with a spritz of chocolate sprinkles, grab the book, and plow through it in a couple of hours......
Sure its a bit extreme but so is this regime.

I posted a question yesterday. Got the dead and wounded numbers off of the DOD website and people sent me a whole slew of hate mail.
Imagine if I used the Amnesty International numbers. They would have violated me.
Hey I'm a Combat Veteran and to me it's just dead guys. That is part of fighting, some guys die. So why do the NeoCons want to "Fudge the Numbers" Is it their love for Enron accounting that spills over into daily life.

it depends on the context of the report.
like when(ultra liberal) Katie couric has a guest that lost a family member in Iraq and asks, "how do you feel about the war in Iraq now?"
fortunately, the last time that happened, the family member was smarter than the average bear, and told her that their family member died fighting for people who could not fight for themselves, and they support that effort.

I think they should ask permission from the family first if they can announce it, if it is an unknown soilder, which I doubt can happen, then it should be ok. I think people don't like it because it is an invasion of privacy
