NO.
But I'll tell you where they got the name from. We've got a saying here in the UK, i.e. 'the whole nine yards', as mentioned by First L (above). It means 'all the way' or 'the whole lot'.
Ammunition belts in Spitfires and Hurricanes (WW2 aeroplanes)were nine yards long, and whenever those British fighter pilots attacked a German aircraft and they were feeling pretty determend, they would fire their guns untill their ammunition belts were empty, therefore giving them 'the whole nine yards'.
I hope you find this little snippet of information interesting. In the mean time, I'll listen out for 'Nine Yards' (sounds a lot better than Nine Meteres). Never heard them on XFM, mind you.
Give it/them the whole nine yards.

hi Scootaloo, i'm I Wumbo. the first actual time I heard my sought after band develop into i develop into 13. they have been my 2 sought after bands ever because. (a million twelve months) no longer that a lot of a lengthy time period. music- kids, Album- Congratulations: MGMT. music-Reptilia, Album- that is It: The Strokes. BQ- definite. even with the indisputable fact that it continually circuitously comes again to those 2 bands on the right of each and every music "section" i go through.
