You have to actually want to lose the weight and be aware of it. With my first I gained 40 pounds and only lost 20 of it. Then with my second I gained 20 pounds and only lost 10 of it. So when I started my third pregnancy I was way overweight. Then half way through is when I saw some pictures of myself and realized that I had to lose the weight this time. So before I delivered I started walking a little, then I gave up sweets. At my 6 week postpartum appointment I was actually 5 pounds less then where I started that pregnancy at. Now I'm on the long journey to lose 50 more pounds to be a healthy BMI. I've started walking and doing stretches with an exercise ball. But for me eating healthy is the biggest thing. Seeing that you weren't overweight to begin with and seem very healthy I think you will be fine. Just eat healthy and steadily increase your exercise as you feel up to it. But don't expect it all to fall off in the first 2 months, it'll probably take 6 months to a year.

Genetics plays a big role in how you lose pregnancy weight, but breastfeeding will *definitely* help. I nursed (and am still nursing) my daughter and lost the 32 pounds I gained while pregnant and then some within 3 months.
I gained about 35 pounds with my son and am tandem nursing both kiddos now. He's 3 months old and again almost all the weight is gone already. (I think the last few pounds are in my breasts! *lol*)
Keep in mind that the majority of pregnancy weight is the baby, placenta, increased blood volume, and your breasts. As soon as the baby and placenta are born, you'll lose a lot of that weight. The rest will probably come off pretty quickly as you nurse.

I was back in my regular clothes 4-6 weeks after i had my daughter. I put weight on afterwards because I developed Type II diabetes from Gestation Diabetes. I then lost 35 pounds and was skinnier before i even got pregnant the first time. I'm following the south beach diet...no sugars at all, no bad carbs.

Congrats on the baby!! Now...quit worrying!! LOL!!! (Me...I'm quite the way of don't wanna gain the weight at all...)
However, I weighed 106 when I got pregnant with my first. He weighed 8lb 5 oz and I left the hospital weighing 108. The only one I had trouble with sort of was my c-section. That sucked...went home with a baby looking pregnant still. ACK!!!
Just eat healthy, go for walks and stuff...don't just sit around. It does take some work to lose, but you are fine in the amount of weight you have gained. I gained 36 with every one of my kids...

You have not put on too much. I put on too much (60 lbs total!!) I lost 20 right away within 3 weeks. Obviously I still had a lot to go. Its been 6 months and Ive lost 40 lbs. But I still have 20 to go....... Thats too much! It's been hard for me, but since you are not too bad it wont be very hard for you. You will gain 10 more lbs at the very most, but actually you'll probably only gain 5 more lbs. You are doing good. Keep it up.

I've had three kids and it never took me long. I think my average was around a month or so until I was wearing my old clothes again. It really depends on where you gained the weight at. Breastfeeing helps a lot! I couldn't nurse but I pumped for a long time and that helped. Good luck to you and congrats!!!!

It is not that bad. Your baby will take up about 10 pounds of that, and your :baby fat" will come off prittyy fast. Just recover first. When you have your baby stay at home with him/her until 6 weeks. And then start walking. Go for a brisk walk once a day. Then you will eventually be able to take the baby with you, this will cause you to push a stroller, witch will add resistance. YOu will be fine. I bet you will be back to normal in about 5 months.

Hmmm...still holding on to the weight. I do go to the gym though and watch what I eat. Try working out. Walking with the baby eating plenty of fresh veggies and fruit. Lay off too many carbs and sugars. Just eat healthy for the baby while you are breastfeeding.
