Most people do it because it helps them feel better about themselves.I guess you could say its a human defense to making themselves believe that if someone else is feeling bad about themselves then the person making them feel bad is "better" then that person. Same reason LIttle kids do it. If one feels bad about something they said or the way they look then it makes the other believe they are right or prettier. It can also be a social need for "popularity"..

Good observation, Stoner. I've asked several questions and along with some good answers come the occasional jerk-answer from someone trying to earn two points . . . most often, someone who didn't fully read or understand the question in the first place. You're right, there are many people out there asking for advice on serious issues and need points of view, not smart alecks.

I don't do it very often but if someone criticizes another's grammar and has a grammatical error in his/her post, well then it does become a fun thing to do.
Then there are the people who come across as total losers. Someone who says something to the effect of, "I only stole $400, but the police have charged me with theft over $500, what should I do?" Not many people are going to respond nicely to that.
Those would be my two excuses.
In looking at the posts that don't seem to warrant negativity, I think that negative responders have grown up in a hostile environment and are used to that kind of behavior. They are just spreading their hurt. They don't realize that people who are fair or nice to others have a much better quality of life.
Nice people often grow up surrounded by predominately well-functioning people and don't realize that there are a lot of mean, hostile people in the world. It is better for them to realize it through these posts than to get emotionally involved with one of these people and find out the hard way.
The other concept that may explain these mean posts is a psychological term called "splitting" which occurs among people classed as borderline. These people don't function so well. I often think that they tend to view themselves as wonderful and others as total losers. One step below borderline are psychotic people. Have you ever noticed that psychotics either think the world is out to get them or that they are Jesus Christ or Napolean? Borderlines are just a less dramatic form of this.

There's all kinds of people out there. Young kids to old adults. If it's insulting - you can put a complaint in. I just ignore the stupid answers & don't waste my time thinking about their answer. It's just some immature kid most likely. I quickly delete the dumb answers & look to the more interesting ones. There is good and bad in everything.
When you go to a place and meet a bunch of people. Your not gonna love everyone. You'll mostly likely meet some people that you really like, and spend most of your time with them. You wouldn't waste your time with the people that don't interest you.

Yes it's right but this how it is with net culture.People say a lot of silly things behind a different identity from their original one.You see that's how it goes with freedom on such an open forum. But still I am happy that in between people realize it and say that it's stupid.

It's a game for many answerers/questioners. A lot of people are just trying to answer as many questions as possible to get points. Or get attetion by posting hateful/rude comments/ questions. Or just trying to be funny. You just have to ignore them or accept it and play/fight back.

Aww, sweetie, don't let em get to you. They are merely words on a screen. And don't you feel a little bit sorry for them, that all they have to offer is infantile attempts at sarcasm? Kisses!
