How about any fruit trees? Or vegetables. I'm not talking about a greenhouse. Fresh produce is very expensive here.

Get an Earth Box http://www.earthbox.com/ and a plant light http://www.become.com/shop?q=indoor+plant+light&utm_campaign=become&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_term=indoor+plant+light Add some fertilizer and you should be able to grow some beauties quite easily.

You can put 2 tomato plants in each one and that produces quite a bit. The Earth Boxes will grow full sized produce. My parents went from regular gardening to strictly earth boxes. They say it more than doubled their crop. Now they have 10 of them and are buying 5 more for next year. They aren't too big 30" L x 15" W x 12" H so it should fit in your house easily enough.

You can even grow corn, melons, and strawberries in them.
Good luck.

Here's some info on fruit:

Yes. Due to the very short winter days in Alaska though, I would recommend buying indoor growing lights instead of relying on sunshine through windows.

Hi momma dix! I would recommend "Hydroponics". It's costly to get started, but well worth the investment! Good Luck and Happy Growing! XOXO Moonpie

You can grow mushrooms in your house. They don't need light.
