OLD (15 years ago) car accident. collection agency for atty for ins company trying to collect now. is there a statute of limitations? they will not provide me with any of the accident information. ie, drivers lic, police report...what can i do? my husband says he was NOT in an accident.

15 years ago? There is a statute of limitations on filing things like this in civil court and I'm pretty sure it's already passed. Usually statute of limitations for civil cases is 2-3 years. Check with legal aid in your area and see if they can help. If they are just now trying to collect, it's going to be darn near impossible because they are also on a statute of limitation of 2-3 years. They should have tried a long time ago. Good luck!
