I totally know where youre coming from. I spent 5 years in college and now im working as an intern making very very little money. Basically, i set aside a little bit of money every month. Also, i do a lot of my shopping online. Often times if you visit a site and sign up for their newsletters and info, they will send you emails good for coupons like free shipping or 10% off an order.
I also shop at places like Rue 21, JCPenny, H&M, and Kohls. They have clothes for people our age at really decent prices. For accessories, i like to go to places like Claires, which has really cute jewelry, rings, necklaces and that sort of thing for pretty cheap. For cheap shoes, of course my pick is Payless Shoes. They usually have sales like buy one pair, get another pair free or 50% off. They also sell bags and purses there too for decent prices. Check local newspapers, especially Sunday papers. Stores will usually do inserts and often times they will have coupons. I know places like JC Penny does this.
Hope it helps some :)

I like Delia*s, Goody's, Marshall's, sometimes Wal Mart, eBay, Rue 21, also thrift stores and consignment shops. If you watch the Sunday papers you can get sales papers and maybe even coupons for the more expensive stores. Oh yeah, and Old Navy too, but try it on before you buy it!

this year before school started me and some girl friends went to second hand stores. we had alot of fun and some of the brand names were very expensive.
I got a winter coat with a cell phone and ipod pocket, $6.00 excellent shape.
2 pair of dress pants $4.00 each.
jeans at $5.00
sweaters and tops between .99 and $3.00.
I also picked up some furniture for my college apartment.
