I know New Jersey is polluted, but what makes it any more polluted than southern California or Cleveland Ohio? Jay Leno and all the other late night ones, always make fun of New Jersey for being dirty and polluted, and sometimes they talk about the high crime there. What's the big deal? I can't really be THAT bad. Bad is Detroit.

Bad is Detroit?

Camden, NEW JERSEY is rated the most dangerous city.

Quote: "In 2004, Camden was declared "America's Most Dangerous City" by the Morgan Quitno Corporation, up from third place in 2003 and topping the 354 cities studied. The city was named "Most Dangerous" again in 2005 out of 369 cities ranked nationwide, with Detroit, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri in second and third place respectively."

People make fun of NJ for high crime, dirty cities, and pollution because they have a narrow view of NJ.

If remove yourself from Newark, Camden, Trenton, and anywhere close to New York City, New Jersey is a great state. It has a lot of natural beauty, excellent weather, and is a great place to be.

It frustrates me that most people don't extend their view of the state beyond the aforementioned cities, but at the same time, it's a loss that's all theirs, and the rest of us get to keep the good parts of the state to ourselves.

Heck, I moved to Birmingham, Alabama. I had heard all the stereotypes. My wife practically had to be forced on the plane to come here for my job interviewed. And we were astonished to find a great place to live.

New Jersey has the same problem. A bunch of nitwits love to run down places they've never visited or just driven through so that it makes them feel superior.

It's just a sterotype, like how the south is sterotyped as all hick states. Or that CA is full of shallow vain people. Sure maybe there are a few people and/or cities that live up to the sterotypes but that dosent make the whole state the same.

That's because a lot of Jersey is polluted....but frankly no moreso than Pennsylvania is....and they don't get the same rap.

I like Jersey.....Stone Harbor is a beautiful beach, though....frankly, it's no Outer Banks.

Same reason why they make fun of other states...they've never been there and they stereotype. I think every state in the US has stupid people, pollution, crime, etc.

It doesnt get any dirtier than any other color. It just may show more, thats all. Besides, Im not sure if that gun you mentioned is actually white anyway. I think its more of a silver color. Either way, no big deal. Guns are easily cleaned in a matter of seconds.
