I have heard that it can slow down the libido a lot & make women lethargic. It can also cause major weight gain. She should monitor closely how she feels, maybe the patch isn't for her.

The birth control patch is putting hormones into your wife's system. They could very likely be causing her lack of sex drive. Different levels of hormones can have different effects on different women. Give the patch some time for her body to become accustom to them and see what happens then.

It's possible. Sometimes the danger of sex (fear of pregnacy, fear of getting caught, etc.) can be exciting to some women. The patch takes the edge off. Or she can be having a reaction to the medication in the patch. Tell her you need to have her symptoms explained to you by her doc. Go in together and talk to the doc. It can shed light on the situation and if she's lying it will certainly come out.

There are many side affects of the pill/patch but they affect each women differently, I thought the pill made my sex drive diminish but i recently went off and realized that it was the guy. Not that im not attracted to him and of course i love having sex with him its just that we have been together for so long.
The decrease in her sex drive could also be due to stress in her life or other enviromental factors.

It could be - I don't know what the side effects of the patch are. But they should be listed in the packaging. Check that, and if it is a big problem, have her check with her doctor. There are tons of birth control options out there, and the patch may not be the right one for your wife.

Good Luck.

Normally being on the birth control helps the drive to be better because you don't have to worry about getting pregnant any more. Maybe she is made different than some of us.

Oh absolutely! It can definitely slow your sex drive. Is she using it permanetely? I had to use it for 3 mos. and it had that effect on me as well. I expected it though because I read all the info on it before taking it. My hubby was so happy when I stopped using it.

give her some time for her body to regulate with hormone high and lows. If nothing changes still then maybe you should just cap it and she could try a diaphragm or if you guys just don't want any children you could have a vasectomy?Doesn't change your sex drive in the least.

Well if she just started the patch then her hormones are all screwed up...give her a few to adjust and she should be back to the same.
