when i start the computer Have no sound and no sound device keeps coming up how do i get the sound back?

when i start my computer two things come up saying the programs im trying to install are not compatible with windows and recomend that i sttop and press the discontue button, im not trying to install anything, how do i get my sound back?

start.....programs......extras...... entertainment ....sound
see if nothing is checked

Go to volume control and call geek squad
