They should have done that when it was serviced. This is not the check engine light right?? On GM, you can reset the service light yourself. No mechanic needed. Check your manual or call the dealer. Ours is very easy, but Nissan is probably different.
On GM, the service light is a reminder light, NOT a problem light.

This is how i reset my codes in my vehicle and I believe that you can do this with any vehicle. You will have to unhook your positive and negative battery cables and let it sit for about 5 minutes (that will reset the soft codes in your vehicle). Then you will touch the negative and positive connectors together (that will reset your hard codes in your vehicle) then hook the battery cables back up. If that doesn't work your best bet would be to go to an auto parts store to see if they can check your engine codes because there might be something there that the mechanic that serviced your vehicle might of missed. I hope that that works for you.

Back to the shop Amigo, something is still not right. Unless your mechanic was an idiot, and then that leaves the original question. Did they fix it right. Service engine light is not a suggestion, it's more of a time to do it is now. This time try a different shop.

Take it back, tell them the light still comes on. They'll look to see what new codes are there, fix that, and reset the light again.
