I haven't, but a neighbor of mine did.
Ever see a cat sleeping on the hood of a warm car?
Sure, everyone has.
Well, the cold gets pretty severe in Michigan, and a stray cat decided to crawl up in the engine compartment for warmth.
Neighbor goes outside and starts his car....
I'll spare the gruesome details.

I accidently killed a neon tetra once. I had a sick catfish that I had to quarantine and I had the net out to get him. I was so preoccupied with the catfish that I just put the net away without really thinking. The next time I went to use the net I found a little dried up neon tetra in it. It was so tiny, a half inch long, I didn't even notice it when I put it away. In a panic I put it back in the tank but it was obviously long gone by then. I felt horrible for days after that. :-(
Nowadays I always check and double check my nets before I put them away.

No and I never plan to. You have to be careful with pets. And, anyone who intentionally kills a pet, unless it is euthanized because of some condition that makes life unbearable for it, is sick in the head and needs to stay away from pets!

Unfortunately, I killed some frogs. I thought they would enjoy an afternoon outside in the sunshine, so I put their little terrarium on the patio. I didn't think about cracking the lid to let out any heat/humidity. Essentially, I steamed them to death. There was also an unfortunate lobster incident. My husband has now forbidden me to own anything that isn't fuzzy.

I killed my parakeets by accident. I had left the windows open on what had started out as a fairly nice warm day. The temp. dropped a lot and when I came home they had died.

I never but my sisters hamster got out of her cage one day,she was doing the dishes and had to answer the door, she came back to the sink and continued cleaning the dishes, was a bit puzzled as she couldn't remember using a sponge before, took it out of the water and yes...it was my sisters hamster,my mum nearly had a heart attack. This happened about 15 years ago,my sister was not told the truth but I told her about it about 5 years ago after a few drinks, big mistake, she never spoke to my mum for days.Poor wee thing!(aye, the hamster, not my sister)

My parakeets, by accident. We were spraying the house for lice my cousin's kid brought us from day care, and through mutual misunderstanding, I thought we had already moved the parakeets outside. Goodbye, birds. :<
