I don't know about scary, but maybe you should try something really different like Donnie Darko that's supposing you have not already seen it.
it's weird but brilliant.

I guess the classic scary movies are the best - you know, the ones that leave more to the imagination which makes the film more scary in itself.
Classic oldies like the original Psycho. Halloween and Halloween 2 (don't even go there with the sequels!!) are pretty scary.
My favourite movie of all time has to be Aliens. I guess anything that puts you in a situation where you can't get away is pretty scary.
I don't know if you've seen the Bone Collector with Denzel and Angelina. Unfortunately it's only rated 15 but it's a damn good film and pretty tense - well worth a watch in my opinion

If you are only going for scary...The Exorcist (1973)!!
That is easily the scariest film ever made...if you really want to hype up the scare factor, watch the interviews about everything that happened on the set and to the cast and crew while filming it!
But, I cannot say enough good things about Donnie Darko for a great movie night that is not only entertaining, but thought provoking!

Try Psycho - the original Alfred Hitchcock 1960s version - its a cert 15 in the UK and not gorey at all - your mind puts all the gorey bits in, but its a fabulous psychological thriller. Don't be put off by the fact that its black and white - I promise that before the film is halfway through you will have forgotten that you're not watching in colour! And make sure you have plenty of cushions to hide behind!
But avoid the 1998 remake at all costs. Its possibly one of the worst films ever made! (check out www.imdb.com for other movie reviews)
But whatever you end up watching, have a great night!

Not rated 18, well that lowers yer options. If you change your mind and decide to have an 18. Then watch Boondock Saints, amazing film. So instead... I shall think... what else... Ok, I think the new X-Men movie could be very groovy. Shaun of the Dead would be very funny. And one more... hmmmmmmm King Arthur, the one with Keira Knightly. Sounds groovy to me.

You could try the 'Blair Witch Project'... not sure what the rating is though...
That is subconciously scary!! Half the time you don't quite know what is going on, and it can seem pretty strange at times, but its a definate must-watch!!
if not then you might want to try 'The Hole', there isn't too much blood, but its sooooo scary!!! its brilliant!!
Hope they help!!

The Exorcism of Emily Rose - rated UK15 / PG-13 for thematic material, including intense/frightening sequences and disturbing images.
Oh, and if you don't mind subtitles 'The Eye' is one of the scariest movies I've ever seen - well worth watching!
P.S. ignore the person below - House of Wax is a total gore fest. Watch 'Hostel' instead ;-D

The Grudge (Ju-On) is very scary - not the US remake, I'm talking about the original Japanese movie. It's also a 15. All depends whether Asian Shockers are to your taste :-)
