Newly renovated bathroom ended up with tile floor not being level near toilet location. Toilet bowl sets 1/2 inch out of level side to side. Front to rear is good. How do I level bowl?

Well what kind of floor is it? If its tile then you can use grout to fill in the gap in front after putting something under the toilet to level it (ie piece of tile, something hard that wont give over time. Dont worry about the seal, the wax ring will seal it even in this situation. If laminate floor I would use white silicone to fill in the gap. If wood, i would use wood putty. :)

Old plumbers trick......Remove the nuts completely from the bolts that hold the toilet to the floor. Get some pennies and put them under the toilet to level it out. Stacking the pennies if necessary. Then but the nuts back on the bolts and tighten them down. That should level the toilet. Fill the gap with caulk.

Hmmm...perhaps the toilet flange is too high on one side...try lowering the the flange...if this is not the case perhaps the floor is to level enough to accept the flush. Remove some tile and use floor leveling compund and leveling instuments to achieve level left to right...the reinstall tiles and flush. ( Check bottom of flush flange...may be something sticking to the rim...wax etc.)

The wedges that "Oldfart" speaks of are easy to find at Lowes or Homedepot. Make sure you use the plastic ones, you don't want to use the wooden ones incase the kids overflow the tub and the wedge gets wet and eventually rot. The plastic ones are grooved and stackable.

Regardless of which trick you use from any of the postings, just remember: once you lift the commode back up, you MUST replace the wax ring!

If not, you will ruin your floor because water and crap (litterally) will run underneath...and possibly damage the ceiling below.
