if a vinyl floor was installed in the 1970's, would this flooring have any asbestos in it.

Very possibly. However, asbestos in floor tiles is not nearly as dangerous as asbestos insulation, because the insulation is loose, fluffy material that can easily become airborne and be inhaled. In floor tiles the asbestos is bound and cannot become airborne unless you are sanding the tiles or something like that which produces fine dust. Many states don't even have special regulations for the disposal of asbestos floor tile.

if you try to peel it up and it appears to have a layer of what looks like burlap in it, its prob asbestos.

have it tested. that is the only way to know for sure.
